Domain problems

What each domain status means, and what to do.

Domain statuses

  • Waiting for records: we haven’t found the records yet. Add them at your DNS host, then choose Check now. The domain is held for you for 72 hours.
  • Ready: the records are in place, and pipes can use addresses on the domain.
  • Problem since (date): something changed in your DNS. Replies use your pipes’ Waribox addresses until the records are fixed, and we switch back on our own. The table shows what we see for each record and why it doesn’t match.
  • Turned off: after 30 days of problems we stop checking. Fix the records, then choose Check and turn on.

The Re-create button

If the domain’s setup was removed on Waribox’s side, the domain says so and offers Re-create. This isn’t a problem with your DNS. Re-creating gives you three new CNAME records to publish in place of the old ones; replies use your pipes’ Waribox addresses until they are found.

DMARC warnings

If your domain’s DMARC record could cause trouble, the domain card lists what to change. If the second test fails with a DMARC or signature error, check the records on the Domains page first.

Removing a domain

Removing a domain sends any pipe that uses an address on it back to its Waribox address.
